MONTAGE DEER VALLEY OFFERS $50,000 CHALLENGE GRANT FOR THE 2010 DEER VALLEY® MUSIC FESTIVAL

Grant will match any new gift or any increase in a donor’s gift amount

SALT LAKE CITY – Montage Deer Valley, opening December 2010, has contributed a $50,000 Challenge Grant for Utah Symphony | Utah Opera’s 2010 Deer Valley® Music Festival (DVMF). The grant will match, dollar for dollar, any new gift to the Deer Valley® Music Festival, or any increase in a donor's gift from the previous season up to $50,000. The grant has the potential to create $100,000 in incremental income to help support DVMF in this challenging economic climate.

The grant period begins March 30, 2010 and ends August 31, 2010. To make a donation, please visit deervalleymusicfestival.org/support.php or call (801) 869-9015.

“We’re delighted to support the Music Festival again this year with our challenge grant. The festival, with its engaging summer-long program of chamber music, classical, pops and opera events, is one great reason to live in Deer Valley from June through August,” said Marcus Jackson, general manager, Montage Deer Valley.

“Our company ‘DNA’ includes a sincere commitment to support the arts and other local community groups, because they enrich all of our lives. We hope that we can inspire others who share our appreciation for Utah Symphony and Utah Opera summer productions to come forward as well.”

“We are so very grateful to Montage Deer Valley for supporting our summer Festival and issuing this challenge grant to the community. In 2009 they came on as a sponsor for our 4th of July concert at Deer Valley Resort and it’s wonderful to know that during such difficult economic times, Montage has decided to not only continue their support but increase their commitment and encourage others to support the Festival as well,” said Melia Tourangeau, USUO President and CEO.

During the 2009 Deer Valley® Music Festival the Perkins Prothro Foundation issued a challenge grant and raised $73,740.
